This 'little One' measures just over 5mm wide and is about 2mm thick through the band. Making it a perfect Ring replica for the smaller hand.

Custom Engraving & English-to-Elvish

Our laser engraver can handle any message, pattern, pictures or symbols desired so long as you are using standard fonts, or can provide a two-tone (e.g. Black & White) image file AND there is enough room for your message to fit on the ring. We CANNOT for legal reasons engrave the same elvish script that features on our licensed The One Ring designs. Other messages in elvish or any other language are ok, of course.

You don't know your ring size already?

No problem!  If you don't already have a ring, a local jeweller will normally measure you for free.

Or, see if you can borrow one that fits perfectly. Then go to www.findmyringsize.com and in just a few seconds you can find out your exact size. Make sure the borrowed ring is about the same width as the ring you are considering choosing, as width can make a difference to fit.

Other Ring Size Systems

We would recommend the Wikipedia Ring Size page if you want to check further.

When is the best time to measure?

The thickness of your fingers vary during the day. We recommend you measure your ring size during the evening, at room temperature (approx. 20ºC/68ºF).

Ring Size Chart

You can also measure an existing ring against our Jens Hansen Ring Size Chart

Note: Please make sure to print it out at 100% scale and check with a ruler that the scale is correct before you use this chart.

Hallmarks

These are the small symbols typically stamped inside the band on a ring that indicate the quality and type of precious metal used, and the jewellery makers name and origin.  For us this normally includes our Jens Hansen signature hallmark.  It is generally recommended to retain these unless you have a special reason not to. As they are indents they cannot be felt when the ring is worn on the finger.

Custom Engraving

Our laser engraver can handle any message, pattern, pictures or symbols desired so long as you are using standard fonts, or can email ideally a vector or at least a two-tone (e.g. Black & White) image file AND there is enough room for your message to fit on the ring. We CANNOT for legal reasons engrave the same elvish script that features on our licensed The One Ring designs. Other messages in elvish or any other language are ok, of course.

If you would like to customize or completely change the engraving just let us know when you make the order in the Special Instructions field on the Cart page during Checkout. Just let us know and we will send you a proof confirmation before we start the engraving.

About The World's Most Famous Ring

Versions

The Jens Hansen Ring that was filmed for The Lord of the Rings™ movies was originally made in 18ct yellow gold. It weighed approximately 17 grams (more than 1/2 oz.), is 2.7mm thick through the band and measures about 7mm tall (just over 1/4 inch) when laid on its side.

This 'little One' measures just over 5mm wide and is about 2mm thick through the band. Making it a perfect Elvish themed wedding band for the smaller hand.

About The World’s Most Famous Ring

This Elvish Love Ring is a recreation of the “Movie Ring” that played the role of the “One Ring” in the “Lord of the Rings” movie trilogy by Peter Jackson. The design is based on how one of Jens’ sons, Thorkild, described the ring as a child:“Simple, heavy band.”Since the first movie premiered in December 2001, the Movie Ring has been the most recognizable ring in the world.

Timeless craftsmanship

Jens Hansen trained many of New Zealand’s leading contemporary jewellers and his pieces are seen in museums, galleries, and royal collections alike. His works were known for their craftsmanship and design quality and have lasted generations. Many of his early designs are still just as relevant as when they were first sold decades ago. Thanks to its elegant, yet recognizable shape that fits every finger, the Movie Ring is perhaps the most timeless piece he ever designed.

Make the ring your own

The original Movie Ring was 7mm wide (just over 1/4 inch) and made of 18ct yellow gold.Your Elvish Love Ring can be an exact replica, but you can also choose from three other widths (3mm, 4mm, and 5mm), four other materials (white gold, red gold and platinum), and three other gold qualities (9ct, 14ct, and—yellow gold only—22ct).

Your own Elvish engraving

The engraving is often what truly gives a ring its meaning. You can choose your own Elvish (or any other language) engraving for both inside and outside the ring. The Elvish Love Poem fits perfectly on the outside of the ring:One ring to show our love,One ring to bind us,One ring to seal our love,And forever to entwine us.
